About Us

Joey Fenton, head coach, lives in Independence with his wife Destany, and five children: Tim (19), John (17), Adam (10), Karlie (9), and Willow (-1). He has three grandkids, and enjoys coaching above all else. He is passionate about teaching baseball, and derives the greatest satisfaction from watching his players grow in the sport and as young people. Several of his past players have gone on to play baseball in high school, and those from his first team are going to be seniors in 2017. Joey works as a printer in Kansas City, and although he enjoys little outside of family and baseball, he does like watching car auctions spending time outside in warm weather.

Destany Fenton, manager/admin, has been married to Joey for more than 20 years. When she isn't working or spending time with her kids, she enjoys gardening and nearly all forms of art. Currently, she is working as a manager at the FedEx Ground hub in Kansas City, and is in the process of getting her BA from Baker University.

Destany also enjoys painting, drawing, knitting, and crafting, when she has time.

Charles Dockery is in his second year of assistant coach with the Monsters. He's been married for 7 years, and is a favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews. He is from North Carolina, and an army veteran (Go Army!). He is currently employed as a GE Service technician. His hobbies include watching Chiefs, Royals, and Carolina Panthers. He also enjoys smoking ribs, 2-stepping with the wife, furniture re-purposing, traveling, hiking, camping, fishing, and of course, coaching... Go Monsters!
